1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small records a website or service stores through your browser. Local storage is a related browser feature that keeps information for a particular website. This policy covers the storage controlled by the Travel House application as well as the distinction between our controls and those of external services.
The application uses local storage for privacy choices and, only if permitted, saved planner settings and currency information. It does not install advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels or analytics scripts. Managed hosting, security or sign-in services may use their own cookies or technical records when needed to deliver or protect the website.
2. Storage used by this application
| Record | Purpose | Category | Maximum duration |
|---|---|---|---|
travel-house-privacy-v1 | Remembers the storage choice you make, its version and expiry. | Strictly necessary | 180 days from your choice |
travel-house-planner-v1 | Remembers planner preferences and your trip shortlist. Names, contact details, notes and children’s ages are excluded. | Optional preferences | 180 days from the last save |
travel-house-currency | Remembers your selected display currency. | Optional preferences | 180 days from the last save |
travel-house-fx | Caches exchange-rate data to avoid repeated requests. | Optional preferences | 24 hours from the last save |
These are local-storage records, not advertising identifiers. If browser storage is unavailable, the site operates with temporary in-page settings. Any third-party hosting or sign-in cookie has its own purpose and lifetime under the relevant provider’s notice; it is not represented as one of the four application records listed above.
Destination video clips are hosted with this website and play in your browser’s built-in player. No YouTube player, third-party video account or sign-in is required. The video file is requested from our hosting service when you open the player; normal hosting network logs may record the request. No separate video preference is stored. External source and licence links are optional and open their publishers’ websites only if selected.
3. Your choices
On your first visit, optional preferences are disabled. Choose “Essential only” to keep them disabled, “Allow preferences” to enable them, or “Cookie settings” to review the choice. The planner, package browsing and enquiry preparation remain available when optional storage is declined.
Use the Cookie settings link at any time to change your decision. Turning optional preferences off deletes the three optional application records from this browser. It does not cancel a booking, retract a sent message or erase records held independently by a messaging or hosting provider. We do not interpret scrolling, browsing or closing the notice as consent.
4. External services and browser controls
WhatsApp, Instagram and other external websites may use cookies when you visit them. No embedded social-media or video player is included in the current application. Exchange-rate requests are separate network calls; disabling storage does not itself block the requests needed to obtain rates. The Privacy Policy explains the information involved.
You may also clear or block site data in your browser. Deleting all application storage removes your saved choices, so you will be asked again on a later visit. Restricting cookies required by the hosting or authentication platform may affect access, particularly while this site is private.
5. Changes and contact
We will update this policy and, where required, obtain a new choice before introducing a different optional storage purpose. For questions contact info@travelhousebw.co or +267 75595555. Read the Privacy Policy for information about your data-protection rights.
